Our story
Family-run since 2009.
Started by two brothers with a flatbed van, a post-hole digger and a stubborn refusal to cut corners. Fifteen years later, that's still the only way we work.
Northgate Fencing started in a Harrogate driveway in 2009. One van, one trailer, and a phone that mostly rang on Saturday mornings. Today we run four crews across Yorkshire, but the promise hasn't changed: the person who quotes your job is the person you'll see leaning on the new fence at the end of it.
We don't subcontract. We don't add hidden costs after the survey. We don't disappear for two weeks halfway through a project. The trade has a reputation, and we know it — which is why every quote is fixed, every post is set in concrete, and every installation comes with a ten-year workmanship guarantee in writing.
Most of our work still comes from word of mouth. Streets where we've done one fence often turn into streets where we've done eight. That's the bar.

Why Northgate
The crew that quotes is the crew that builds.
Fencing is one of those trades where corners get cut out of sight — shallow post holes, undersized timber, no concrete. We do it the slow way, because shortcuts always show up in February.

Word of mouth
Two reviews. Both verified.
"Three quotes, three very different prices — Northgate landed in the middle, but they were the only crew that explained why. Fence has been up four winters now, still straight as the day they finished."
"Quick to come out for a storm-damaged panel after the January gales. New post in, panel replaced, gone within two hours. Charged exactly what they quoted."
